Dear Havern & HAP Families,

What an incredible weekend! I want to extend my deepest thanks to each of you for your support, energy, and generosity at our Benefit. We had such a fantastic turnout, and together we raised an incredible amount for our students—funds that will directly support and enhance our programming, ensuring we continue to grow and meet the needs of every Havern learner.

If you weren’t able to join us, or if you'd simply like to relive the magic, we’re excited to share the Benefit video that premiered during the event. It beautifully captures the spirit of our community and the impact of your support.

As we look ahead, it’s hard to believe the end of the school year is fast approaching! There’s a lot happening between now and then, and we don’t want you to miss a thing. Please take a moment to read through the important upcoming events and announcements below.

Bestselling author, Max Brallier,
is coming to Havern!

We’re thrilled to share that our amazing librarian, Ms. Mandy, has partnered with The Bookies bookstore to bring bestselling author Max Brallier to Havern! He’ll be speaking with students about his exciting series, The Last Comics on Earth.

If you’d like to pre-order any (or all!) of his three books, he would be happy to sign them for your student at the event.

His books include:

Too Many Villains
A Song of Swords and Stuffies

Please download the order form below and return it with cash or a check (made out to Havern School) for $12.75 per book.

All order forms need to be turned in before his visit on the May 8th.

4.23 | EMBRACE YOUR INNER MONKEY DAY

Stu-Co got creative with this one—everyone should wear yellow or banana-themed gear and bring their stuffed monkeys to join the fun! Stu-Co will also provide banana pens or pencils for writing. At lunch, students can enjoy bananas instead of applesauce, with Stu-Co supplying the bananas. Applesauce will still be available for those who prefer it.

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL &
FIELD DAY FUN

Our last day of school is always such a fun and memorable one, packed with exciting events! Please send your child in comfortable shoes and sunscreen so they’re ready for the day’s activities.

To add to the fun, Student Council has declared it Mustache Day and they will be offering mustaches for the children to wear for the day.

We’ll kick off the morning with one of our favorite traditions—a middle school vs. staff kickball tournament, cheered on by the lower school! After that, it’s time for our all-school field day, featuring relay races, water games, and even the chance to pie the Head of School—it’s going to be a blast!

Parents, we’d love for you to join us starting at 11:30am. HEART will be providing free hotdogs and chips for families and students, or you’re welcome to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy with your child. Please RSVP below if you plan to join us so we have enough food for everyone! The Kona Ice truck will also be on campus from 11:30am–12:30pm to help us kick off summer, with 20% of proceeds benefiting Havern.

Dismissal is at 12:00pm. Please check in with your child’s teacher and sign them out directly before leaving.

You're Invited:
Dyslexia Simulation at Havern

We’re excited to welcome Vertical Skills Academy, Havern’s newest tenant, as they host a Dyslexia Simulation here on campus on Saturday, May 3. This event is open to the public, and you're warmly invited to attend!

This hands-on experience is a great way to learn more about dyslexia and the challenges it presents. During the simulation, you’ll engage with five interactive stations that simulate the experience of dyslexia and dysgraphia, followed by an educational overview of dyslexia. Childcare will also be available during the simulation.
